Lyman Bulldog Softball Camp

The Lebanon Sports Bulldog Softball camp offers an opportunity to improve individual skills with an emphasis on fundamentals and team play with teaching as a key element.  It is the goal of the camp to have each camper increase their skill and most importantly, to have a good time while doing so! This year the softball camp will be held at the Lyman Memorial High School softball field.

​Softball Camp Director – Ron Vigue​

Lyman Memorial Varsity Softball Coach 2013-present; 9 years as Lyman Memorial High School Girls Softball Coach and 15 years coaching experience in the Lebanon School District; 12 years as Head Coach with the Connecticut Bombers Travel Softball Organization. Career record at Lyman Memorial: 72-85; Connecticut Bombers 345-159-23. Fall Ball coach with the Connecticut Bombers from 2009-2013, 2016, 2017. CIAC Certified Coach, CPR/First Aid Certified.

As Connecticut Bombers coach, Coach Vigue's teams have won multiple tournaments, including the biggest win as 18U with the 2013 PONY East Regional National Tournament with an 11-0 record in Sterling, VA. That season also included four other tournament wins—one second and one third. All of the girls on this National Tournament team went on to play softball in college. Throughout his years coaching the Connecticut Bombers, he has worked with levels 12U through 18U. In recent seasons (2019 & 2020), the CT Bombers Team came in 2nd place at Nationals.

​While at Lyman, he has coached 18 All-ECC players and 3 All-State players.

Camp Assistants

Emily Vigue: Graduated from Lyman Memorial High School in 2012. While at Lyman, she was selected to the ECC First team for her 2009, 2010 & 2012 seasons as a pitcher. In high school, she threw numerous no-hitters, a handful of perfect games while holding the school’s strikeout record. She went on to play Division III softball and volleyball at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT, where she played both sports all 4 years. During her time at USJ, she was captain of both teams. She also had a few honors, including pitching a perfect game, earning the “most improved” coaches award for Softball. During these years, Emily also played travel softball for the CT Bombers from age 10-age 19. She just finished her 3rd season as assistant Varsity Softball coach under her father for Lyman and is currently on her seventh season volunteering her time coaching for the 18u travel team-CT Bombers out of Norwich, CT. 

Patti Sciglimpaglia: Graduated from Norwalk High School in 2012. After receiving 2nd team All-FCIAC for Outfield in 2010, and All-Area MVP and 1st Team All-FCIAC for pitching in 2012. From there she went on to play Division III for the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford. She completed her career with all three of the GNAC’s highest honors: Rookie of the Year (2013), Pitcher of the Year (2016), and Player of the Year (2016), in addition to getting 1st Team All-Northeast Region for two seasons (2014, 2016). After she graduated from USJ, she played on the semi-professional softball team The Brakettes— Currently, she is coaching a 18u travel team- CT Bombers out of Norwich, CT and she is also teaching private pitching lessons to future pitching stars. 

Mary Brainard: Graduated from Norwalk High School in 2012 after receiving All-State and 1st Team All-FCIAC selections for catching. From there, she went on to play division III at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. She was named Second Team All-GNAC in 2014. She was also the GNAC Rookie of the Week April 22 in 2013. Received 3 Coaches Awards (2014, 2015, and 2016) and was team captain both her junior and senior years. For two seasons, she played on The Stratford Brakettes semi-pro softball team. Currently, she’s coaching the Junior Brakettes (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 seasons) softball team. In 2018, she was the Head Coach of the 14U Xtreme Chaos softball team and has also held a handful of assistant coach positions over her career.
